You've just bought a Zyroam eSIM — now what? This guide walks you through every step from purchase confirmation to your first mobile data connection at your destination. The entire process takes about 2 minutes of active setup time.
The 4-Step Process
Step 1: Purchase Your Plan
Buy before your trip. You can purchase your eSIM days or even weeks before traveling. The plan validity doesn't start until you connect at your destination.
Step 2: Install the eSIM
Do this at home on WiFi — don't wait until the airport.

Don't set it as your default data line yet. During installation, when asked about Default Line, keep your primary SIM as the default. Only switch to the eSIM for data when you arrive.
Step 3: Wait Until You Arrive
Your eSIM is now installed but dormant. It's not using any data, not consuming battery, and your plan validity hasn't started. You can leave it like this for days or weeks — nothing happens until you activate it.
Perfect timing: Install your eSIM the night before your flight. This way you're fully prepared and can connect the moment you land.
Step 4: Activate at Your Destination
When you land and turn off airplane mode:
"Data Roaming" must be ON. This is the #1 reason eSIMs don't connect. Each SIM line has its own roaming toggle — turning it on for your eSIM doesn't affect your primary SIM.

I didn't receive a QR code email — what do I do?
Check your spam/junk folder first. If it's not there, log into your Zyroam account and check your order details — the QR code should be available there. If you still can't find it, contact support at support@zyroam.com.
Can I install the eSIM without WiFi?
You need an internet connection to download the eSIM profile. WiFi is the most reliable option. If you don't have WiFi, you can use your existing mobile data connection — but WiFi is recommended.
When exactly does my plan validity start?
Your plan starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network at your destination — not when you purchase or install it. You can buy and install days in advance without losing any validity.
I'm connected but the internet is very slow — what's wrong?
Try toggling Airplane Mode on and off. If that doesn't help, check that your eSIM is set as the Cellular Data line (not just turned on). Also verify the APN settings match what was provided in your confirmation email.
Can I top up my data if I run out?
Yes — if your plan supports top-ups, you can purchase additional data through zyroam.com/esim-usage without needing to install a new eSIM. The extra data is added to your existing plan automatically.
