Your plan starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in Spain — not when you buy it.
These are data-only plans. Calls and texts work through WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram and similar apps.
Your existing SIM stays in the phone, so your normal number keeps receiving calls and SMS.
Check your handset on the compatibility list before buying — the eSIM is locked to the first device it is installed on.

How do I activate my Spain eSIM?

After checkout you get an email with a QR code and a manual activation code. Scan it from your phone's mobile-data settings while you are still on Wi-Fi, and keep the eSIM switched off until you arrive. Step-by-step instructions for iPhone and Android are in our setup guide.

Which phones support eSIM?

Most phones released since 2018: iPhone XS and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and many mid-range Android models. The handset also has to be carrier-unlocked. The full list is on our compatibility page.

When does my Spain data plan start?

The validity period begins the first time the eSIM connects to a supported network in Spain, not at purchase. You can install it days ahead of your trip without losing any days.

Can I use WhatsApp and make calls with the eSIM?

Yes for anything that runs over data — WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram, Signal, Zoom. The plan does not include a local phone number or traditional voice minutes, but your own SIM stays active in the phone for calls and SMS to your usual number.

What happens if I run out of data?

Most packages can be topped up from the My eSIMs tab in your account, without installing a new eSIM. You can also check how much data you have left any time on the usage page.

Can I share the connection with another device?

Personal hotspot works on most of our plans, so you can share data with a laptop or tablet. A few networks restrict tethering — if that matters for your trip, check with us before buying.
